Bringing Racine Back to its Root

Back to the Root: An Urban River Revitalization Plan is a vision for the Root River that was created by the Root River Council based on more than a year’s worth of public input. The plan lays out recommendations to bring a positive focus back to the Root River within the City of Racine. A PDF (1.5mb) of the entire plan can be viewed here. The plan has four main goals:
By attending the next Root River Conversations on Tuesday July 29 you will learn about several opportunities for you to take action to improve the Root River in Racine. The meeting will be held from 6-8pm at the Root River Environmental Education Community Center (REC), 1301 6th Street.

Root River Council
The Root River Council is a volunteer committee that is working with the River Alliance of Wisconsin to engage the Racine community to develop an Urban Root River Plan that will bring a positive focus back to the Root River.
